Abstract:A motion compensation algorithm is proposed for Pulse Doppler(PD) radar, and its implementation is described based on Field-Programmable Gate Array(FPGA). The algorithm applies to radars for processing Linear Frequency Modulation(LFM) signal by dechirp method. Firstly, the theory of moving target’s envelope movement and phase shift is deduced, and the motion compensation algorithm is put forward. Secondly, following the clue of IF echo processing, the algorithm implementation is described in detail based on FPGA. Finally, the algorithm effectiveness and its implementation are verified by Modelsim and Matlab co-simulation, and its compensation performance is analyzed.
